The Taxation Section is pleased to offer its first program on COVID-19 matters. The section will be hosting a series of presentations on recent federal legislation addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning with this update on the Paycheck Protection Program. Dan Houlf and Wayne Roberts will be the speakers. There will be a one-hour presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A.

Speakers

Dan Houlf: Dan recently retired from the General Motors Company, where he was the general tax counsel, responsible for leading a large team of tax professionals in GM’s Tax Counsel Group. Most recently, Dan has leveraged his experience by helping small and medium-size businesses on a variety of tax and legal matters, including the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program.

Wayne Roberts: Wayne is the co-chair of the Business Tax Group at the Bodman law firm. His practice is focused on corporate, business and individual tax planning, and federal, state, and local tax controversies.

He has been a recognized state and local tax lawyer for more than 20 years, and has been involved in a majority of the significant legislative, administrative, and case law developments that have taken place in Michigan taxation.
