Jordan Smith works with our advisors and their clients in the design and implementation of advanced strategies. He provides an important legal perspective to strategies that involve estate planning, taxation issues, trust design and the preservation and transfer of wealth.

Jordan is an attorney with a great deal of experience in tax and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals. Specifically, helping clients transfer wealth through annuity arbitrage, premium finance, sale of remainder interests, and life settlements, just to name a few.

Before joining Schechter and since 2007, Jordan had his own law practice and was also the owner and founder of Insurable Interests LLC, an insurance agency and advisory firm. Prior to that, he was an equity partner at the law firm of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss.

Jordan received both his bachelor's degree and J.D. from the University of Michigan. He received his L.L.M. in taxation from NYU.
