The Real Property Law Section is pleased to announce that the 2023 Winter Conference will be held at The Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Known as Florida’s “Pink Palace,” this fully renovated luxury resort destination faces the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. With the many attractions in St. Pete, and baseball spring training in full swing, families will have plenty to see and do.
We will begin our program discussing commercial and residential foreclosures under Michigan law, a topic that is sure to be relevant given the economic forecasts. Next we turn to Florida to discuss lessons learned from the Surfside Collapse, which are applicable to condominium and homeowners associations throughout the country. We close the first part of the program discussing the current state of law relating to short-term rentals and dig into issues surrounding this hot topic.
Day two we turn to renewable energy. We will explore the challenges facing renewable energy development as well as the importance of new generation for future demand. We will then have a discussion on multi-jurisdictional estate planning issues in Michigan and Florida with a particular focus on real property, and conclude programming with a review of Michigan legislation and case law essential for practicing real property law attorneys.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn and network with your colleagues!
The Section would like to thank Stephen R. Estey, Dykema for planning this program.
