The RPLS Summer Conference is the premier education and social event for real estate practitioners in Michigan. This year’s  event features engaging, timely, and relevant programs appropriate for attorneys of every experience level to sharpen their skills and better manage their busy practices. Attendees will have the chance to attend forwardlooking programming on key issues affecting the real estate landscape and learn from experts in the field. Co-Chairs Aileen Leipprandt of Hilger Hammond and  Kevin Hirzel, Hirzel Law, invite all real estate practitioners to meet their colleagues at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa to have  some fun and gain knowledge that will resolve those key practice issues that may keep you up at night.

Thursday, after a  legislative update from the RPLS lobbyist, the conference will begin with an expert panel discussion exploring the modern use  regulations in the context of the litigation surrounding use expansions such as battle that ensued between Traverse City wineries and the local township. Workshops on Thursday and Friday will address the legal underpinnings of affordable housing   transactions, economic development incentives, important issues in fair housing, artificial intelligence, and the practice of law, addressing diversity and generational gaps in the practice of real estate law, and best practices in the Corporate  Transparency Act.

Friday will feature an update on recent Michigan court opinions impacting real estate. The program will also include a dozen interactive roundtable discussions on a variety of topics such as riparian rights, the Uniform Power of Attorney Act, carbon sequestration, pre-emption and renewable energy legislation, and more.

You can also enjoy a full array of  recreational and social activities, including a welcoming cocktail reception Wednesday evening, golf scramble on Thursday, and a fun filled Thursday evening that includes face painting for kids, the Section dinner, and dueling pianos that will conclude the  evening. Saturday morning will kick off with a special presentation by Paul Unger, of Affinity Consulting Group (Atlanta, GA) who will provide invaluable information on how to manage daily information overload and master time management. Afterward,  another set of exciting roundtables will conclude the conference, before leaving you to enjoy your weekend in beautiful Traverse City.

Please join the Real Property Law Section for three days of fun and learning in Traverse City this July.
