The State Bar of Michigan Children’s Law Section (the “CLS”) established the “Jack H. McKaig, II” Endowed Scholarship Fund (the “Scholarship Fund”) to provide scholarships for Michigan law school students demonstrating an interest in practicing in the area of child protective proceedings and/or juvenile justice (collectively, “Child Welfare Law”). The Scholarship Fund has been named in honor and remembrance of John (Jack) H. McKaig, II, a long-standing, instrumental member of the CLS. The Scholarship Fund will be administered by the CLS Council who will select scholarship recipients in accordance with specific criteria. Applications will be accepted beginning February 1st through March 30th, 2021. The winner of the scholarship will be announced May 15, 2021.
