You've written a great blog. The
headline is compelling, the information is news your clients can use,
and it's presented in an interesting format. Now it's time to circulate
it to current and future clients.
Getting it out there for all to see and read
First, post it on your blog. Now it has
an Internet address you can send via an e-blast to your clients for
whom you have e-mail addresses and have agreed to receive your e-mails.
Give them a reason to follow the link to your blog with a compelling
tease such as, "Read more about the latest laws on asteroid mining."
Second, announce your blog on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter with links to the site.
Finally, publish it on the SBM enhanced member directory. It's easy, and it will be found by fellow lawyers and clients.
Posting your publication to the SBM enhanced member directory?
Once you get to the SBM home page:
- Click on Member Area at the upper right-hand side of the screen.
- Sign in with your P number and password on member area login page.
- On the right-hand side of the screen, find the box with ZeekBeek in it. Click on it.
- Your profile will appear. On the upper right side of the screen are the words "Add+". Click on it.
- A list of the publications you can add will appear. Choose "blog."
The option for posting your blog will
appear. It is self-explanatory and easy to use. You can copy and paste
the blog content from your compute. Add tags or words that describe your
blog content to make it easier for readers to discover more about your
topic. If your area of law is space law, use terms such as "asteroid
mining," "outer space law," and "Lansing space lawyer," then select the
practice area from the pull-down menu. Add links to your website,
profile, pictures or video, click on publish, and you're done.
Now your blog is available for everyone
to read. When people on the ZeekBeek website click on Zeekapedia, they
will find your blog and links to your profile and those who come to your
profile will find a link to your blog.
The last step is tracking your results.
Most sites track the visitors to your blog. You can quickly tell
whether people were interested in your topic. It's important to know if
your efforts are rewarded with new clients and contacts so you can make
necessary changes.
