This program is a partnership of the State Bar of Michigan Pro Bono Initiative and the Intellectual Property Law Section. The Patent Project is now accepting applications for pro bono assistance.

Applications We Are Currently Accepting

  • A provisional application must have already been filed with the USPTO
  • We are currently accepting the following types of cases
    • Filing a Non-Provisional Application
    • Responding to a Non-Final Office Action
  • We are not accepting the following types of cases
    • Prior art searching
    • Patentability analysis
    • Clearance of freedom to operate analysis
    • Licensing, transfer, enforcement, or disputes
    • Assistance with prosecution of international patent applications
