The White House Business Council and the State Bar of Michigan Intellectual Property Law Section invite you to join Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office Michelle K. Lee for a discussion of current developments and topics in patent law and policy.
Director Lee will discuss several key initiatives of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including the recently-announced Patent Quality Initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of patent examination and issued patents as well as the rule making that is currently underway with respect to AIA reviews in the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She also will discuss current proposals for patent reform legislation pending or under consideration in Congress, and more generally, the role of patents and other forms of intellectual property in driving innovation.
Director Lee looks forward to hearing your perspectives on these issues, as well as on other ways in which the USPTO and the Administration can help promote innovation and the success of its user community. Please come ready to share your ideas.
Space is limited so please RSVP by April 15, 2015.
