Please join us for this virtual two-part lunch series to discuss and learn more about how our mental health is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and current racial unrest in this country.

Johanna Soet Buzolits, Ph.D., LP, will lead in this discussion and help us: 1) define our experiences; 2) recognize our individual responses; and 3) develop coping skills that can be applied in our personal and professional lives.

Unfortunately, Part I of this session did not record successfully; however, this TED Talk entitled Beyond the Cliff by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky, and referenced by Dr. Buzolits, serves as a valuable resource in this series. We encourage everyone who is thinking about attending the second session to view this video beforehand.

Dr. Soet Buzolits is a licensed clinical psychologist and current faculty member at the University of Michigan’s School of Psychology. She is also the co-owner and operator of Arbor Wellness Center in Ann Arbor, which provides psychotherapy for a wide range of issues, yoga and meditation for body, mind, and spirit, and supervision and consultation for mental health professionals. In her private practice, Dr. Buzolits works with adolescents and adults on a broad range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, managing chronic illness, recovering from toxic relationships, sexual and domestic violence. She previously held the position of interim Assistant Dean of Students for the University of Michigan, leading efforts to address critical incident management and helping to develop protocols for appropriately responding to students in crisis. Dr. Buzolits has conducted research and written on topics such as trauma, sexuality, birth, college student mental health, instrument development, multicultural counseling, and spirituality.
