Navigating Co – Production under AUKUS. Understanding the Role of ITAR in International Defense Collaborations
In this webinar, we will explore the critical intersection of co-production, the Australia, United Kingdom, US (AUKUS) agreement, and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Co-production, a collaborative approach to defense development and manufacturing, is increasingly vital in international defense partnerships. The AUKUS pact between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States represents a significant advancement in defense cooperation, particularly in the development of nuclear-powered submarines and other cutting-edge technologies.
However, the success of these efforts hinges on navigating the complexities of ITAR, which governs the export and transfer of U.S.-origin defense technology. This session will provide an in-depth understanding of co-production, analyze the strategic importance of AUKUS, and examine the role of ITAR in facilitating or hindering these international collaborations. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the regulatory landscape, learn about potential challenges, and discover best practices for ensuring ITAR compliance in the context of co-production under AUKUS.
