Wayne County Special Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Baughman
opens the program with his year-end review of high impact
criminal cases. First Assistant Attorney General John Pallas will
follow with a presentation on expungements, and Assistant Federal
Defender Daniel Dena will discuss new developments in firearms
cases after the United States Supreme Court’s decision in New
York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen.

Following a short break, the program resumes with Assistant
Attorney General Kelly A. Carter, who will provide an update on
human trafficking laws. Attorney Steven Dulan, a nationallyrecognized firearms expert, will share his insights on gun rights
restoration. Marla McCowan, Deputy Director & Director of
Training for the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission, closes the
program with a discussion on the recently approved standard
covering attorney compensation (Standard 8.)
