earlene_w.jpgEarlene Baggett-Hayes is an attorney who has specialized in dispute resolution for over twenty years. She serves as a Mediator, Arbitrator, Fact Finder and Trainer. She serves as a Neutral on numerous public and private panels across the nation, including the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, American Arbitration Association, National Mediation Board and the Financial Industry Regulatory Association. Earlene has developed and facilitated over twenty training programs related to the area of ADR. She is licensed to practice law in the states of Michigan and Illinois. Her practice also includes work in criminal, domestic relations, probate and property law. Earlene has been recognized nationally and locally for her work. She was recently inducted into the International Academy of Mediators (IAM). A native Chicagoan, Earlene is a graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she received a J.D. degree and a B.A. degree in political science. She also received a M.A. degree in public administrative from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Earlene is the founder and owner of the Law and Mediation Center in Pontiac, Michigan.

Edward_H_Pappas.jpgEdward H. Pappas is the Chairman Emeritus of Dickinson Wright PLLC and focuses his practice on complex commercial and business litigation, arbitration and, mediation. Mr. Pappas is a former President of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association, and is currently the President of the State Bar Foundation. He also is a Fellow of the  International Society of Barristers, the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, and the Litigation Counsel of America, as well as a Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution Panel of  Distinguished Neutrals, and the American Arbitration Association’s Roster of Neutral Commercial Litigation Arbitrators and Mediators. In 2015, Mr. Pappas received the Roberts P. Hudson Award, the State Bar’s highest recognition given to a member who “best exemplifies that which brings honor, esteem, and respect to the legal profession.”

sotomayor.jpgA business litigation attorney, mediator, and arbitrator for over 35 years, Rande Sotomayor is now a full-time mediator well known for the determination and optimism she brings to every mediation. Her down-to-earth, common sense approach distills the issues so parties and counsel find durable solutions. She specializes in employment, business, real property, personal injury, and insurance disputes.

Rande is a Fellow in the International Academy of Mediators, is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, was selected for the 2017-2021 Southern California Super Lawyers lists in Alternative Dispute Resolution, has a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating (Peer-Rated for Highest Level of Professional Excellence), and has been named a Top Attorney by Pasadena Magazine, 2016-2021. Robert E. L. Wright attorney/mediator/arbitrator is a Michigan pioneer in mediation and ADR. Bob formed The Peace Talks, PLC in 2000. Leaving a large Michigan firm to pursue his passion for mediation. He is a member of Professional Resolution Experts of Michigan (PREMi) and anchors its Grand Rapids office. Recently named Grand Rapids Mediator of the Year by Best Lawyer™, Bob has over 40 years of experience resolving disputes as a negotiator, mediator, arbitrator and litigator in ADR proceedings.

As a neutral mediator and arbitrator, he has assisted over one thousand individuals and businesses peacefully resolve disputes. In addition to his wealth of practical experience, Mr. Wright trains other mediators in both basic and advanced courses and is a member of the ADR Section of the State Bar of Michigan (past chair); ACR; ABA DR Section; and regularly volunteers as a pro bono mediator.

Sheldon J. Stark offers mediation and arbitration services. He is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, a Distinguished Fellow with the International Academy of Mediators and an Employment Law Panelist for the American Arbitration Association. He is also a member of the Professional Resolution Experts of Michigan (PREMi). He is past Chair of the council of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar and formerly chaired the Skills Action Team. Mr. Stark was a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law from August 2010 through May 2012, when he stepped down to focus on his ADR practice. Previously, he was employed by ICLE. During that time, the courses department earned six of the Association for Continuing Legal Education's Best Awards for Programs. He remains one of three trainers in ICLE's award-winning 40-hour, hands-on civil mediation training. Before joining ICLE, Mr. Stark was a partner in the law firm of Stark and Gordon from 1977 to 1999, specializing in employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, civil rights, business litigation, and personal injury work. He is a former chairperson of numerous organizations, including the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Employment Law and Intentional Tort Subcommittee of the Michigan Supreme Court Model Civil Jury Instruction Committee, the Fund for Equal Justice, and the Employment Law Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now the American Association for Justice. He is also a former co-chairperson of the Lawyers Committee of the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan. In addition, Mr. Stark is chairperson of Attorney Discipline Panel #1 in Livingston County and a former hearing referee with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. He was a faculty member of the Trial Advocacy Skills Workshop at Harvard Law School from 1988 to 2010 and was listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" from 1987 until he left the practice of law in 2000. Mr. Stark received the ACLU's Bernard Gottfried Bill of Rights Day Award in 1999, the Distinguished Service Award from the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan in 2009, the Michael Franck Award from the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan in 2010. In 2015, he received the George Bahara, Jr. Award For Exemplary Service from the ADR Section of the State Bar.  He has also been listed in "dbusiness Magazine" as a Top Lawyer in ADR for 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
