The book tells the long, untold story of the race massacre in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1921 and its cover up. It goes on to tell the story of how the cover up was overcome and the story allowed to emerge. The author was one of the people responsible for finding evidence and bringing it to light. Ellsworth is a professor now at the University of Michigan and has agreed to participate.
