The Real Property Law Section is pleased to announce that the 2024 Winter Conference will be held at The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Enjoy the sprawling Southwestern-style family-friendly resort, located in the heart of Scottsdale. From rolling golf courses and relaxing spas, to the Adventure Water Park and hiking, there is something for everyone.
We live in rapidly changing times and the legal landscape is evolving faster than ever. The 2024 RPLS Winter Conference will feature legal experts from Michigan and Arizona seeking to keep attendees up-to-date and ahead of the game. The Program will kick off with a presentation designed to educate attendees on the current and anticipated impact of artificial intelligence upon real estate and real estate practice. Next, an esteemed panel will provide perspective and a roadmap to compliance with the U.S. Corporate Transparency Act. Then, post-COVID challenges with office space will be addressed. Michigan’s ever-evolving alternative energy landscape – including legislation just passed granting Michigan’s Public Service Commission authority over siting of large solar and wind projects – will be addressed. We also will have an intriguing presentation on laws aimed at protecting Native American cultural resources during mining and natural resource development projects. Don’t practice in the affordable housing area and run into an issue? Don’t panic, we’ll provide you with a framework and list of contacts to make your job easier. We’ll conclude with our traditional, thorough legislative update to keep you up to speed. This will be an informative and engaging program which will offer something of interest to everyone and an excellent opportunity to network with your fellow Section members.
