Bernard Gottfried 1925-1992

After Bernard Gottfried became director of the National Labor Relations Board Region Seven in 1973, he instituted a series of annual updates for the labor law community, bringing together agency staff members and practitioners.

Gottfried's dedication to the practice of labor law and education inspired friends and colleagues in the Detroit legal community to honor his memory with an ongoing program highlighting developments in labor law. Wayne State University Law School and the National Labor Relations Board Region Seven, in sponsorship with the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, are proud to present this 25th annual symposium in memory of Bernard Gottfried.

Proceeds from the Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium will be used to fund future educational programs and further labor law studies at Wayne Law School.

John Raudabaugh is the Reed Larson Professor of Law at Ave Maria School of Law and an attorney with the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation. Nominated by President George H.W. Bush, he served as a board member of the NLRB from 1990-93. Raudabaugh earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, his graduate degree from Cornell University, and his law degree from the University of Virginia.
