Mission


The purpose of the Immigration Law Section is to foster awareness and appreciation of the area of immigration and nationality law; to study immigration and nationality law; to promote recognition of immigration and nationality law as a specialized area of practice; to promote throughout the State of Michigan the legal education of members of the Bar and the public on immigration and nationality law and policy; to sponsor, prepare, or assist the publication of legal writing in this field; and to otherwise further the interests of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) and the legal profession as a whole in all ways related to immigration and nationality law.
