Speaker: Barbara M. Bosler, JD, MHE, RHIA, Attorney, Barbara Bosler, PLLC 

Barbara Bosler has been an attorney for over 5 years. Her first career of more than 35 years was in the healthcare industry as a Health Information Management specialist. She was the Director of Medical Records for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Ann Arbor and at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. She served in many other capacities for the Detroit Medical Center and VA including Business Manager, physician reimbursement expert, and documentation, coding and billing consultant. She was also Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy where she taught similar courses to students from all programs enrolled in the College of Health Professions. This includes Nursing and Physician Assistant students. She now provides policy support to the national accrediting body for HIM programs.

Barbara is a VA accredited attorney and has focused her legal career in assisting veterans to appeal their disability and pension claims. She was the Veterans Law Staff Attorney at the UDM Law School in 2013 and now as a solo practitioner assists the veterans at Piquette Square for Veterans in Detroit. Other legal practice interests include healthcare fraud, which she authored ten columns for the Home Health Care Journal for Nurses.
