The Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation Section is proud to host an exciting event that brings together franchise practitioners and the business community we serve to discuss the latest legislative updates and best practices in the operations of a franchise business. This seminar will be valuable not just for lawyers whose practice includes franchise law, or who are interested in franchise law, but also franchisors and franchisees as well. The program will include three parts:

During the first hour, Dean Heyl, the International Franchise Association's vice president of government affairs, will provide an update on federal and state legislation and court decisions impacting franchising.

In the second hour, Peter Lagarias, a well-known franchising author, practitioner, and professor often representing franchisees, will discuss contemporary enforcement of franchise agreement provisions impacting the franchise relationship.

The third hour will consist of a panel of franchisor and franchisee representatives that will discuss best practices in daily franchise operations.

This program is free and open to everyone practicing franchise law or interested in franchise law. It will be open at 8:30 a.m. and the program will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Coffee, juice, and pastries will be served.
