PRESENTER:  Zenell B. Brown, Executive Court Administrator, Third Judicial Circuit.
Zenell Brown joined the Third Judicial Circuit Court in 1997 and became the Executive Court Administrator on January 1, 2014.  Zenell worked with SCAO to create a Domestic Relations Mediation Training, which included components addressing the particular needs of never married parents.  She is a SCAO approved trainer, assisting Zena Zumeta as a co-trainer and coach and conducting a summer mediation training to never married service providers.  She recently co-presented “As the World Turns” at the Association of Conflict Resolution Conference sharing insights on mediating for non-traditional families.  Her foremost mediation goal is to help ensure that mediation is an available resource for all families.

MODERATOR
: Zena D. Zumeta, Mediation Training & Consulting Institute

Internationally known as both a mediator and trainer of mediators, Zena D. Zumeta is president of the Mediation Training & Consultation Institute, Zena Zumeta Mediation Services, and The Collaborative Workplace in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She has been providing mediation services since 1981.  Ms. Zumeta is an approved civil and family mediator in Michigan, and an approved mediation trainer for Michigan and many other states. WHAT: Fragile families--and never married families--need mediation services as much as any other segment of domestic relations practice, if not more. Never married individuals are especially at risk and present unique challenges to mediators and other professionals who seek to help them. Zenell Brown has been engaged with this issue for many years and brings a unique perspective, helpful hints and important insights to share.
